International Women’s Day Celebration

🦄 Women of DevC Lokoja 🦄

To build upon the United Nation’s official International Women’s Day theme in 2020 “#EachforEqual” We will have an International Women's Day event aimed at celebrating women in various roles in the tech space. We know that some women in the tech space are experts while some are just starting out but we want to celebrate and shine a light on all of them.

From the over 200k DevC members in our Circles worldwide, only 20% are female. We want to focus on increasing female membership and interest in tech not only during IWD’s month, but year-round by starting conversations within the community to discuss these challenges that female members face. The focus of this event is to celebrate women in various roles in the tech space and help others not in the space see reasons why they should and how they can get started.

Come, Network, Learn, and Be Inspired!

Special Announcement!!!

We want to ensure that everyone’s health and well-being is prioritized.

Due to the evolving public health concerns related to COVID-19, we have decided to cancel the Women of DevC Lokoja - IWD Celebration physical event. Meanwhile, we will be hosting this event virtually via Zoom (a remote video conferencing app). We would also record the virtual event and provide it publicly on YouTube after the event for easy access.

If you have RSVPed before or about to RSVP, you will receive an email with more instructions on what to do and how to join the call. Please ensure to add the event to your Calendar once you receive this email.

You can also join the video call on the event date and time here: https://bit.ly/devcl-online

We’ll continue to share the latest updates on our Facebook Group (https://facebook.com/groups/devclokoja). We encourage you to check out the World Health Organization, for tips that can help prevent the spread of coronavirus: https://www.who.int/

Stay healthy and safe!
